Prologue

Lilias stood at the top of the stairs. Her purple dress adorned with black laces, and golden ribbon. The spotlight on her as everyone turned to gaze, for she was the most important person at the ball. She delighted in her life as a Princess, but now, it was time for her to choose a suitor to wed and take over the kingdom. She heard the women gasp and whisper in awe as she began her graceful decent down the elegant stairs, long red hair done up in a neat bun while mauve eyes took in the scene before her. The crowd parted as she reached the bottom of the stairs and she continued through her future people to where the Princes had lined up, in hopes to be chosen. There were six in total, each from a different land hoping to bring their kingdoms together, but even more so to have such a beautiful Princess as their bride. “Princess!” A female voice caught her attention and she turned to see a woman, her hair braided and wrapped in a nice bun, navy dress flowing as she ran towards, and stopped in front of the Princess, bowing respectfully. “Princess Lilias....” The women said again as she straightened herself and smiled handsomely at her. “Please consider me as your suitor.” The woman’s words audibly shocked the crowd around them, but neither her, or Lilias flinched. Lilias looked back at the Princes, how lucky could she be to have six Princes, and a woman, wanting her hand in marriage. Lilias smiled as she looked back to the woman, and parted her lips to speak.

“Princess, it is time for your piano lessons.” The ten-year-old's eyes flew open and she sat up in her bed, her curtains around it pulled back for the day and she was already dressed, just day dreaming. Lilias frowned, such a nice day dream interrupted for some annoying piano lessons. With a heavy sigh, she climbed out of bed and slipped her shoes back on. “Coming, Wilfred!” She said to her butler as she placed one hand on the other over her stomach as she had been taught to do, and followed him to the piano where her father was waiting. “Good morning Lilias.” He beamed when he saw his beautiful daughter. She smiled in return. “Good morning, father.” She stood in front of him for a moment before he motioned for her to sit on the bench. She moved around it and sat down, preparing for her lesson. After a while of playing, their butler popped in once more and cleared his throat to get her fathers attention. “Your duties call, your highness.” Wilfred said. Lilias and her father looked at each other sadly. “Thank you Wilfred.” He said, turning his head to him for a moment, before turning his attention back to Lilias. “Very good today, you are doing well. You are excused, we will continue this another day.” He said before rushing off. Lilias stood from the bench and took a slow stroll down the long hallways, back to her room. For such a big palace, it was very lonely. Entering her room again, she closed her door and sat in front of her mirror, staring at herself for a while before sighing deeply. She loved her parents very much, but she missed them. There was hardly ever any fun to be had, and it was all because they were a royal family.

The sound of her window shattering took her by surprise, causing her to jump up, knocking her seat over and spin around. A rather large rock came to rest on her floor and she looked back up in time to see two men enter her window. She screamed and ran for the door, but they were faster, slamming it shut again before grabbing her hair. “Bring her.” One of them said as he opened the door again and they took her to the main hall, where her father and several of the butlers were already on their knees. She was thrown down next to her father and she looked at him. “What’s happening?” She asked, terrified. “We’re being held hostage.” Her father said grimly. A shrill screech rang out through the halls, indicating they had found the Queen. Finally, everyone in the palace was rounded up and on their knees. “Which one?” One of the men said. Another glanced at her family, then motioned at Lilias. “That one, the Princess.” Her heart sank, certain that she had been chosen to be assassinated. The men approached and stood behind the King and the Queen. With little more than a look, they grabbed their hair, forcing their heads back, and slit their throats, blood splattering everywhere, including Lilias’ clothes and face. A shriek of her own emanated from her chest, the horror of the situation unfolding was too much for the Princess, but before she could fully realize, they lifted her off the ground by her hair and dragged her off. She looked back in time to see them do the same to the butlers, leaving a pile of bodies, and blood. “MOTHER! FATHER!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!” She screamed, struggling but was easily subdued by the men and dragged off.

The town sat in darkness, and mourning as the news of the King, Queen and Princess washed over them like a wave of devastation. How could anyone do such a thing? And where was the Princess? The shops remained closed, houses boarded up as people lived in fear now, if someone could do that to the royal family, what was stopping them from doing it to anyone else. A newspaper page drifted to the ground. On it, it read “King and Queen Slain in Palace! Princess Missing!” A photo of the King, Queen and Princess underneath the headline. Rain drops slowly began to fall and soak the paper as the town slowly fell into the darkness of night, and grief.

Chapter 1 – Hope In The Night

It had been eight years since the royal Rose family was slain, and the Princess went missing. The kingdom assumed the worst for the Princess, mourned for her, and then moved on as a new King had taken over. He was young, arrogant. Few favoured him, but tolerated him. The towns people kept themselves busy, making their village look bright and happy, tired of being miserable; However, one part of town remained unpleasant. This is where crooks, pirates, courtesans, and monsters hung around, and good people stayed away. It was here that a dark, hooded figure frequented. Today, as the sun was setting, he found himself standing in the back of a crowded auction house where they sold slaves. Most of the auctions were scrawny men, dirty, pathetic looking, though his attention finally perked up when the announcer spoke with more enthusiasm. “We finally have a woman up for auction!” He laughed from his stomach. “This one likes to be called “Princess!” Let’s show her a little... Hospitality.” He joked with a sinister grin as the woman was shoved onto the stage, crimson hair hung over her face, knotted and dirty. Her bones showing through her pale skin. Chains bound her hands and feet, rattling as she walked. Head hung in shame and agony, only having wraps covering her woman parts, showing bruises and cuts where she had been hit and whipped. The men started laughing and joking. “Heeey Princess! I’ll treat you like royalty!” One said. The hooded man’s lip curled in disgust as bidding started and the men started placing them. “One thousand!” The hooded figure spoke up, catching the attention of everyone in the room. After a moment of silence, the auctioneer spoke. “We have one thousand! Anybody want to top that?” He said, followed by more silence. “Going once, going twice.... SOLD! Congratulations to the “lucky” man!” He grinned. The girl was shoved off stage and taken to the cages again, where she was shoved into a tiny cage. She fell to the floor and curled up, in pain, humiliated, and terrified. After what seemed like forever, the hooded figure approached her cage. Dull, mauve eyes looked up at him, studying his movements, body tensing. “Open it.” The buyer snarled at the attendant, who promptly did so and the man stepped closer to the girl, who tried to move away. “Hey hey, it’s okay...” He spoke softly, squatting down to get a closer look. “My name is Night, may I ask yours?” He asked. The girl stayed silent, just staring at him with distrust. “I understand. You have been hurt, for a long time, haven’t you, Princess” Her eyes widened with shock, and finally, she spoke. Her voice course, trembling, and silent. “Hhhhow... Do you know... Who I am?” She asked him. “I heard the news, they never found you, so they assumed your death.” He said. Her eyes lowered again, harsh memories flooding back. “Princess Lilias, please, come with me. I mean you no harm.” He spoke softly, holding out a gloved hand to her, though she was still bound by her chains. She looked at his hand and followed his “order.” He helped her stand and assisted her out of the cage where he looked at the attendant again. ‘Release her from the chains.” He said. The assistant hesitated. “Now.” Night demanded, and the assistant quickly unlocked the chains and moved away. As they fell to the floor, they rang out loudly, and Lilias rubbed her bruised wrists carefully. “Are you alright to walk on your own?” Night asked, the poor girl looked like a skeleton, severely malnourished and sickly looking. She nodded, but then struggled to walk, still used to having chains restricting her movement. “Hold on.” He said as he stopped her, and then gently picked her up, holding her under her knees and back. She looked up in surprise as he began to carry her.

Night carried her the whole way back to his home, both in silence. As her eyes struggled to adjust to the daylight, she was finally able to get a new look at him. His skin was pale, almost like he was sick. She wasn’t able to study his face for long as the light burned them and she had to cover them. They finally arrived at a little house away from the town, where he set her on her feet gently and closed the door behind him. “Welcome home.” He said, motioning to the house. “This is a nice change from the cages and stone floors...” She muttered out loud, still obviously nervous. He chuckled lightly. “I know it’s not a nice palace, but I hope it’ll do. I’ll prepare the bath for you and set out some nice clothes for bed. While you’re cleaning up, I’ll prepare a meal.” He said. She sat down slowly on the chair as he disappeared into the next room. A moment passed as she looked around, this atmosphere was a lot more pleasant than the musk of the dark, cold basements she was caged in. She rubbed her wrists some more, the feeling of not having shackles was new, her limbs were able to move freely now. She stretched, though her muscles were very weak and it caused pain, causing her to cry out. Night appeared in the doorway to the bedroom. “Are you alright? What happened?” He asked, concerned. Lilias looked at him and blinked, not used to people not screaming at her to shut up. “Uh... Yeah, I’m fine, I’m just not used to being out of shackles...” She spoke quietly, turning her head away and resting her hands on her lap. “It’ll take some getting used to, but for right now, your bath is ready. Go ahead and clean yourself up, there’s clothes on the dresser for you, and you can leave your old clothes on the floor.” He said. She looked up at him again, confused as to why he was treating her so well. She stood slowly, using the table to help her and slowly walked to the bedroom, past him and watched as he closed the door for her privacy. She turned and looked at the bath, hope rose in her chest as it’d be the first bath she’d had in... She couldn’t even remember. She stripped her clothes off, leaving them on the floor as he had told her to do, and carefully climbed into the water. She hesitated for a moment, it all felt like a dream, a cruel, beautiful dream. After a moment, she allowed herself to relax, reclining in the water and dipping her head. After cleaning up, she began to smell the pleasant scent of food, almost how she used to smell in the palace. She took a deep breath through her nose and let it out, smiling a bit as her stomach growled. She lifted herself from the water and carefully climbed out of the tub, drying herself off and approaching the dresser where he’d put out the clothes. They weren’t fancy like her old life, but it was definitely better than the “clothes” she’d been wearing the last few years. It was a nice feeling, to be clean and to have clean clothes for once. She opened the door after getting dressed, he looked up after setting a plate on the table. “Do you feel better?” He asked, continuing to set the table. “Yes, it’s a nice feeling to be clean.” She said softly, noticing he’d removed his gloves to cook. “Good.” He said as he set food on the table, then pulled out a chair and motioned for her to come over. “Come, sit.” He said. She approached slowly, allowing herself to indulge in this dream a bit, for if she were to wake up and find that this was in fact just a dream, at least she could be happy for a little while. As she sat down, he gently pushed the chair in. “I hope you like deer, fresh from last night.” He said. She looked at the setting, then back at him. “I’d eat anything at this point, deer feels fancy... Everything right now feels fancy, almost unreal...” She said almost as if she were in a daze. “I can understand, you’ve been kept up for so many years, I bet you’d forgotten what daylight looked like.” He half joked. She nodded slowly. “Go ahead, take what you want, just pace yourself, it almost looks like you haven’t eaten the whole time they had you.” He said as he sat down on the other side of the table and started placing food on his plate. Lilias watched him for a moment, then looked at the food. After a moment of fidgeting with her hands, she slowly reached for the mashed potatoes, though having not lifted anything for years, the bowl was almost too heavy for her to lift. Night saw her struggle and smiled warmly. “Could I help you?” He asked patiently. She looked at him and then back down at the mashed potatoes as they landed back on the table with an audible thud. Embarrassed, she nodded and then sat back. “Yes please...” She mumbled, placing her hands back in her lap again and resumed fidgeting. He put small portions on her plate, assuring that she would be able to take more if needed and then sat back down. “Things will get easier in time, just be patient.” He assured her, knowing it was probably hard to have such little strength. “Thank you.” She spoke softly as she picked up her fork and used it to pick up some potatoes. As the potatoes touched her tongue, a switch seemed to flip in her brain, having not tasted food for so long, this tasted like Heaven and she started eating faster. “Lilias, take it easy. Don’t make yourself sick.” Night reminded her. Hearing his words, she slowed down, savouring the taste. Finally, she had enough, her starved stomach refusing to take anymore. “That was delicious, thank you.” She said as she looked at him. “I’m glad you enjoyed it. Allow me to show you your room, where you’ll be sleeping.” He said, leaving the table as it was for the moment and walking around to stand next to her, holding his hand out. She nodded, taking his hand, and gasping as he helped her to her feet. “You’re so cold...” She uttered in surprise. Night looked slightly surprised. “Ah heh, yeah... About that...” He spoke awkwardly. “You see... I’m a vampire.” He said, her eyes widened in shock and fear. “Easy, I’m not going to hurt or kill you, I bought you from that auction for the mere reason of freeing you. I recognized you as the missing Princess, and your condition was and is still, deplorable. You are not a prisoner here. You can come and go as you please, but I do intend on getting you back on your feet, if you will allow me.” He explained. She studied his face and body language as he spoke. It was true, that he hadn’t done anything thus far to hurt her, though they’d just met. She allowed herself to relax again and nods. “I will trust you.” Her voice almost a whisper and he could tell, she was still afraid, but that was because that fear had been instilled in her by other ignorant humans, and at least she was giving him a chance. “I appreciate that, Princess.” He smiled, her eyes drawn to his teeth, and he noticed, smiling wider for her to get a better look. “Now, let me show you where you’ll be sleeping for your stay here.” He said, a little more cheerfully as he gently led her down the hall, and stopped at a door, slowly opening it. “This is the guest bedroom, it’s plain right now, but I can make it more comfortable for you if you like, or you could do that yourself.” He said, entering the room after letting go of her hand and lighting some candles to light up the room. “It’s lovely, I haven’t slept on a real bed since...” She let her voice trail off and he turned to glance at her. “I understand, well, I’m happy to provide your first bed since then.” She entered the room as he stood by the door again. “I will let you get comfortable, do call me if you need anything, alright?” He said softly, giving her a smile and slowly closing the door behind him. She heard his footsteps grow quieter down the hall, and then the clanging of plates and utensils as he cleaned up after their meal. She laid on the bed, stifling a pleased groan as her sore, beaten and frail body was blessed by the softness after years of laying on concrete. Before she knew knew it, she was sound asleep.

Chapter 2 – To Die, or To Die

Weeks had passed, but Lilias’ condition had only worsened. Night noticed that she seemed even more frail-looking than before. She was eating less, and even started being sick. Finally, it got to the point where she was unable to even get out of bed. Her body in constant, agonizing pain, breaths became laboured, and Night feared that the Princess would actually perish this time. He thought about it, but he decided against summoning a doctor, as he already knew they wouldn’t be able to help. He’d seen this before, and the outcome was grim. He sat next to her on the bed, petting her head softly to comfort her. “I’m sorry...” Lilias whimpered, opening her eyes to look at him. “Shhh, don’t be sorry, it’s not your fault.” He whispered back to her. “Am... I going to die?” She asked, almost breaking his heart in doing so. He paused, unsure how to respond to that. She understood his silence, giving him a soft smile. “Thank you, for taking care of me, and making me feel like a Princess again.” She whispered. “Lilias...” He started, unsure if he should even suggest such a thing. “There... Is a way I could... “Save” you...” He finished hesitantly. “But... You will still die.” Lilias looked confused for a moment before realizing what he was suggesting. “I could... Change you... Into a vampire too. That way, you will still be able to exist, you will just have a very different life.” He explained. Lilias smiled warmly for a moment before it faded. “There’s no more time left, Lilias, do you want to do this? Or...” He asked, concerned as he suddenly sensed her heart failing. She seemed to zone out but he pulled her attention back to him by placing a hand on her cheek. “Lilias.” “Okay...” She whispered. He nodded and gently pulled her up into him, embracing her limp body. Her head rested on his shoulder. “This is going to be uncomfortable, but it won’t last.” He warned. He kissed her neck softly first as a sort of apology, then quickly sank his fangs into her neck, and vein. She groaned in pain but had no strength left to move. He comforted her by petting her hair softly while filling her blood stream with the venom that would work to change her. After a moment, he pulled his fangs free and firmly held the wound with his hand to stop the bleeding. By now, Lilias was unconscious, so he softly lay her back down and covered her with a blanket. Her heart still beat, but it was weak and eratic. He remained by her side for a while, making sure her heart continued to beat in order to get the venom through her body. After he was sure that it had spread through her small body, he held her hand and softly whispered to her; “The task is done, you can stop fighting now.” As if she heard him, her heart slowed, then finally stopped. She was now officially dead. He leaned down and kissed her forehead before letting her body rest. He would check again in a few days to make sure the process was going well. Until then, he would make preparations.

A week had passed since Lilias was given the vampire’s kiss. Night silently slipped into her room, though she still had not awoken. He touched her face, which was now cold to the touch. Her cheeks and eyes had sunken in and he began to worry that he acted too late. “Come on, Lilias...” He whispered to her, petting her hair softly before leaving her again. He sat at the table, clasping his fingers together and leaned on the table with his arms. What would happen if she wasn’t successfully changed? He had originally planned on getting her back onto the throne, for a number of reasons. After gaining her trust, maybe there would be a place for vampires like him, and they wouldn’t be outcast, and wouldn’t have to hide from humans. Nobody liked the current King, Night was sure she could do better with the Kingdom that was rightfully hers. Nights eyes widened as a sudden feeling washed over him and he darted to Lilias’ room. “Lilias...” He breathed in relief as he watched her body begin to twitch. First, her fingers, then her legs, then her mouth. Her skin remained pale, but her cheeks were no longer sunken in. He sat next to her on the bed as he observed her body changing, gently lifting her lip to see if her fangs were growing, as she would need them immediately. Finally, her eyes flickered, then opened slowly. The first thing she saw, was Night’s relieved expression. “Welcome back.” He spoke softly. “Night...” She whispered, lifting her arm to him. He met her hand with his, holding it softly and kissing the back of it. “It’s okay, I’m here.” He reassured her. She placed her other hand on her head and closed her eyes again. “Ugh... My head...” She groaned. “Yes, you need blood, I’ve prepared that for you. Are you strong enough to walk?” He asked. She opened her eyes to look at him. “I’m not sure... Let me try...” She said, lifting herself slowly into a sitting position, swaying enough for Night to grab her so she didn’t fall out of the bed. “S-So dizzy.. I may need some help after all...” She said. “I’m right here, swing your legs off the bed.” She did as he said, and he guided her onto her feet, holding onto her arm to help her steady herself. “Just take it slow.” He said, moving forward just a bit, helping her take small steps. “Alright, you’re doing good. Now... What you’re going to see outside may upset you, but it is necessary, I assure you.” He said, slowly guiding her to the door and opening it for her while still holding onto her. Before them, an adult doe stood, tethered to a tree. It began to struggle when it saw them. “A deer?” She asked. “You need to drink it’s blood. It will help you feel better.” He explained, helping her to her meal and gently letting go of her. “Allow me to steady her for you, all you need to do, is sink your fangs into her neck and take all the blood you can handle.” He said before grabbing onto the thrashing deer and holding it still. Lilias’ expression remained blank as she took wobbly steps towards the deer, placing her hands on her neck and softly petting the fur, as an apology to the doe before baring newly grown fangs and plunging them into her flesh, causing the deer to cry out in pain. As the taste of blood hit her tongue, Lilias went into a frenzy, sucking the blood of the doe into her own body. She felt the warmth coursing down her throat, into her stomach and working into her veins, flowing through her cold body and warming it. The taste was so very addicting, and for a moment, she didn’t hear Night’s words, telling her to slow down. Even if she wanted to, she couldn’t, she NEEDED more! “Lilias!” He called for her, her glazed eyes shifted to him, glowing pink as she felt the sick feeling disappear magically, and felt strength returning to her body. “You put yourself into a frenzy, you can’t drink blood so fast hon.” Lilias continued to drink, she couldn’t stop. The doe lost consciousness as the rest of her blood was taken, and Lilias pulled her fangs from her neck, blood trailed down her chin. Night smiled warmly at her and dropped the doe’s now lifeless body, approaching Lilias, he gently took her chin in his fingers and lifted her face up to look at him. He slowly leaned closer, her eyes widened, and he licked the blood off her chin, causing her to blush deeply. “Forgive me, I couldn’t help myself.” He chuckled, pulling back. “You know, you’re cute when you blush.” He said, turning back towards the house. “Come, I have a cloak for you, you’re going to need it in the daytime now.” He said. Lilias was still staring at him wide-eyed as he casually walked back to the house and then turned to wait for her. After a moment, she was able to move again and followed him back into the house, closing the door behind her. He lead her to his room where he had a cloak hung up on the folding screen. He took it down and approached her, wrapping it gently around her shoulders and tying it for her, then pulled the hood up and stepped back to get a better look. “This cloak will save you from being burned by the sun. Now that you’re a vampire, your skin won’t tolerate the suns light, so you have to keep covered in the day.” He explained. She nodded. “You’ve already had your first lessons as a vampire, staying safe from the sun, and drinking blood. You will know when you need more, you will feel the blood thirst. If you wait too long, you will become lethargic, weak, light headed, if you wait even longer, you can become paralyzed, an easy target for scavengers. Never let yourself get to that point.” He said. She nodded, looking down at her hands, almost not recognizing them. Her skin was so pale, it almost freaked her out. “Another thing...” He said. “Mirrors use silver to reflect images, but since Vampires and silver don’t necessarily get along, you won’t see your reflection anymore. Just don’t freak out when that happens.” He placed a hand on her shoulder. “Being a vampire is a gift, and a curse. You get to live as an immortal, but we have our own set of restrictions, and we are technically dead. Humans will attack you as well. They don’t understand how we work, and for that, they are afraid of us. There’s even vampire hunters. With that being said, come with me. I need to teach you how to fight.” He said, leading her out the door again and deeper into the forest. “As you can see, we are deeper in the forest, in the middle of the night, and no moonlight is able to get through, but you can still see. Along with your new strength, and abilities, your senses are much keener, and you also have vampiric powers. Those I will teach you later. For now, you’re learning physical defences. Are you ready?” He asked. She nodded and braced herself. He showed her how to defend against other vampires first, then against humans, and vampire hunters. Next, he showed how to defend against other monsters prowling the woods, like werewolves, witches, abominations and more. Afterwards, they headed back to the house, the sun peeking through the trees as it began to rise. Lilias pulled her hood up, though as she did, a ray of sun touched the back of her hand and her skin sizzled, causing her to cry out. “It’s ok, we heal quick, but that’s what the sun feels like to us.” Night said, quickly ushering her into the house. She pulled back her hood again and examined the back of her hand, watching as it healed before her eyes. “...I’m not sure I’m ever going to get used to that...” She said, almost feeling sick at the thought. After a moment of silence, she turned to Night again. “So... Do vampires sleep? Or? Just, sit around bored while the sun’s out?” She asked. “Vampires don’t have to rest, but they can.” He said, looking back at Lilias who had her mouth open, touching her new fangs with her finger. He chuckled. “You will get used to them, just don’t bite your tongue or cheek. It hurts like Hell.” He said. “I can imagine.” She replied, pulling her finger out of her mouth and closing it again. She sat at the table and clasped her hands. “Do you have any family?” She asked after a moment of silence, hoping to get to know him better. “Sort of. I have lots of good friends around the forest, I visit them occasionally, help out where it’s needed.” He said. “Did you... Have any other family, other than your mother and father?” He asked hesitantly. “No... Not that I know of. I’m the last of my family bloodline.” She said, hesitating for a moment. “...Was.” She joked, poking fun at her situation. “What about partners? Are you in a relationship?” She asked him. “No, I’m currently single.” He replied. She nodded. “So am I, given my situation for the past... Eight years. Everyone assumed I was dead.” She looked down. “I felt so alone, helpless, I thought it was never going to end. Hell on Earth exists... That was it. Even now, as a vampire... I’m not as depressed, or helpless, I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt. And you...” She let her voice trail off, piquing Nights interest. “Hmm?” “Even before my parents were slaughtered... I felt alone. My mother and father were always busy. The servants basically raised me, but I still loved my parents... You are being so kind to me, and you don’t know how much I appreciate that.” She spoke softly, folding her hands and pulling them closer to her chest. He watched her for a moment, pulling her onto her feet and wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. “I’m so sorry Princess... That you had to be so alone for so long. But you’re here now, I got you.” His voice soft, soothing. She blinked at the affection, blushing as she rested her head against his chest and wrapped her arms around him in return, loving this feeling of being so close to someone. A new feeling had begun to brew within her, she liked being with him, she liked hearing his voice, and seeing his soft expression. His scent brought her comfort and for the moment they had embraced each other, nothing else existed, just the two of them. After a few moments, he pulled back and kissed her forehead. “You are handling this change rather well, I’m proud of you.” He said. She smiled. ‘Thanks. As a Princess, I am taught to persevere through life’s challenges. This is just... Another challenge.” She said. “As it is. You are a strong woman, and I don’t doubt you could take your kingdom back again someday.” He said. “For now, I must run an errand, but I am attuned to you. If anything changes, I will be back in a flash. Will you be okay?” He asked. Lilias nodded. “I’ve been on my own for most of my life, I will be fine.” She said. “Good. I’ll be back in a couple of hours. Feel free to entertain yourself with what you can find around here.” He said before bowing his head to her and disappearing out the door again. Lilias turned to the now empty house, deciding to explore a little. She found a book that she had wanted to read as a kid and picked it up. It was in relatively good condition She sat in the windowsill, burying her eyes into the words and losing herself into a whole new world.
